During National Road Safety Week, police conducted high-visibility traffic operations across Tasmania to promote safe driving behaviors, remove unsafe drivers & vehicles, & emphasize avoiding speeding, inattentiveness, & driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol. This year, 8 lives have been lost & 116 people seriously injured in road crashes. Acting Commander Nathan Johnston encourages the public to take responsibility for their actions on the road to create a safer driving environment.
