Dairen Chemical partners with The LYCRA Company to mass-produce bio-PTMEG, reducing carbon footprint of bio-derived LYCRA® fiber by 44%.

Dairen Chemical Corporation (DCC) partners with The LYCRA Company to convert QIRA®, a next-gen 1,4-butanediol, into low-impact PTMEG, key ingredient in bio-derived LYCRA® fiber. DCC will be the first to mass-produce bio-PTMEG at scale. The new bio-derived LYCRA® fiber, with 70% renewable content, could reduce carbon footprint by 44% compared to traditional LYCRA® fiber, and is set to be available in early 2025.
