China and France have announced a collaboration to restore Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris and protect the Terracotta Warriors. The collaborative research project with France's Fondation des Sciences du Patrimoine primarily focuses on the protection of wooden remains and earthen archaeological sites, with specific efforts to preserve and restore fire-damaged wood from Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Mausoleum of Emperor Qinshihuang. Joint studies will also be conducted on historical significance, wood species identification, preservation status assessment, degradation mechanisms, and protection techniques.
