Chattanooga Police Chief Celeste Murphy is under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) over her residency, as she is required to live in Tennessee per city charter. The TBI is also investigating a complaint of official misconduct against Murphy. Murphy, who came from Atlanta, has requested a pause on the ongoing internal affairs investigation until the TBI investigation is completed.
