Blackstone acquires Hipgnosis Songs Fund for $1.56bn, outbidding Concord at $1.30 per share.

Blackstone emerges as the winner in the bidding war for Hipgnosis Songs Fund after Concord refuses to increase its $1.25 per share offer. Hipgnosis agreed to a $1.56bn takeover by Blackstone, which offered $1.30 a share. Hipgnosis owns music rights for artists such as Beyonce, Shakira, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Blackstone also holds a majority stake in Hipgnosis's investment adviser, HSM.
