Australian Financial Review (AFR) ceases print edition in Western Australia due to increased printing costs demanded by Seven West Media.
The Australian Financial Review (AFR) will stop printing in Western Australia after Seven West Media, owned by billionaire Kerry Stokes, demanded a new contract that doubled the cost of printing. Nine Entertainment, which owns the Financial Review, will instead provide a digital-only news site in WA. The move will end 70 years of AFR distribution as a printed newspaper in the state.
