Abu Dhabi conducted its first passenger-carrying drone trial during Mobility Week, marking a significant step towards the UAE's futuristic vision of sustainable transport. A small drone carried two passengers up to 35 km, and a five-seater drone traveled over 250 km with a 350 kg payload. The UAE aims to locally manufacture drone parts and develop infrastructure such as vertiports and eVTOL MRO facilities. Fast, sustainable transport solutions, including flying taxis, are gaining momentum in the country, with Dubai aiming for flying taxi availability by 2026 and Ras Al Khaimah targeting 2027.
