An orca pod was spotted near Vancouver Island close to where a two-year-old orphan killer whale has been seen since escaping from a lagoon. However, an expert cautions against expecting an immediate family reunion, as the pod has not yet been identified as the calf's family and they are too distant for her calls to be heard. This sighting represents the first official report of orcas near the calf since late March.
