Renowned producer and musician Steve Albini, known for his work with Nirvana, Pixies, and PJ Harvey, has passed away at 61 from a heart attack. Albini, who also fronted bands Shellac and Big Black, was an outspoken critic of the music industry and a proponent of DIY and punk ethos. He refused to take royalties for his work and was preparing to release Shellac's first album in a decade, To All Trains.
