34-year-old Eriq Cash was arrested in Taft for alleged involvement in multiple copper wire thefts from farmland and oilfield properties in southwest Kern County. The Kern County Sheriff's Office noted a significant increase in such thefts causing substantial property damage and losses. Cash was found after deputies responded to a stolen vehicle report and discovered large gauge copper wires in the vehicle.
