Vermont Senate passed a bill requiring utilities to source 100% renewable power by 2035; largest utilities by 2030, others by 2035. It doubles renewable sourcing from new in-state renewables by 2035 and adds a requirement to purchase from new renewables in the New England region. Despite support from utilities and most environmental groups, Governor Phil Scott may veto it due to concerns over electric rates.
