Sri Lankan firm Browns Investments acquires Lipton's tea estates in Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania for an undisclosed amount, with a 15% stake to be offered to local communities. The deal also includes Lipton's tea estates in Rwanda and Tanzania. The partnership will position Kenya's tea as a premium product and include the creation of a Community Endowment Trust Fund with an initial investment of Sh1 billion in community projects.
