Italian confectioner Ferrero Group opens its first North American chocolate processing facility in Bloomington, Illinois, amid rising cocoa prices. The 70,000-square-foot expansion will produce chocolate for some of Ferrero's brands, including Butterfinger, Crunch, and Kinder. This is Ferrero's first processor site in North America and marks the third globally, with the campus planned to include a $214 million Kinder Bueno chocolate bar manufacturing facility, creating 200 local jobs.
