2005 antitrust lawsuit settlement deadline: May 31, 2024, for eligible US businesses accepting Visa/Mastercard between 2004-2019.
A deadline is approaching for businesses that may be eligible for a payout in a $5.5bn antitrust settlement with Visa and Mastercard. The settlement, stemming from a 2005 lawsuit alleging that merchants paid excessive fees to accept the credit cards, covers businesses accepting Visa and/or Mastercard credit or debit cards in the U.S. between 2004 and 2019. Eligible business owners whose businesses have since closed or went bankrupt can also submit a claim. The deadline to file a claim is May 31, 2024.
