Tyler man James Earl Roberts Jr., 37, pleaded guilty to aggravated kidnapping/sexual abuse in connection with a 2019 attack of a woman running at Rose Rudman Park. The attack occurred on March 14, 2019, when Roberts tackled the woman, put his hand over her face, and dragged her into the woods. He held a knife to her throat and allegedly sexually assaulted her. Roberts entered the guilty plea in Smith County's 241st District Court.
