University of Chicago police cleared a pro-Palestinian protest encampment early Tuesday, ending an eight-day demonstration on the campus' main quad. About 50 UCPD officers began dismantling tents, signs and structures without arrests. The student newspaper, the Chicago Maroon, reported that protesters remained on the grounds, standing off against university police in riot gear.
