Tennessee-based sanitation company Fayette Janitorial Service LLC has reached a consent judgment and agreed to pay $650,000 in civil penalties after a federal investigation found they illegally hired over two dozen children to work in dangerous meat processing facilities in Iowa and Virginia. The company is now forbidden from employing minors. U.S. law prohibits employing individuals under 18 in meat processing plants due to the hazardous conditions.
