Tata Electronics Ltd. begins exporting limited quantities of semiconductor chips packaged in its Bengaluru R&D centre, partnering with companies in Japan, US, and Europe. The move supports plans for a new chip packaging unit in Assam and a $10bn chip foundry in Gujarat. Tata Electronics is in the final stages of successful tape-out of semiconductor chips in various nanometre nodes, with global manufacturing standards in view.
