Supreme Court of India orders police to avoid naming innocents and backward community members in history sheets.

The Supreme Court of India has asked police in states and Union Territories to ensure innocents and individuals from backward communities are not named in history sheets. Initiating suo motu action, Justices Surya Kant and K V Viswanathan emphasized the need for extra care and precaution by police officers while ensuring no mechanical entries are made for disadvantaged individuals in history sheets.
