On 7 May, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) celebrated its 65th Raising Day, with Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane praising the organisation for its role in ensuring India's security and socio-economic progress in remote areas. BRO plans to commence construction of the 4.10-km long Shinkun La Tunnel, set to become the world's highest tunnel, and has completed 125 infrastructure projects worth Rs 3,611 crore in 2023-24.
