Louis Dreyfus Company raises its offer for Australia's Namoi Cotton to A$0.67 per share, topping Olam Agri's bid of A$0.66 per share. Namoi Cotton shares rise as much as 2.8% on the news. Louis Dreyfus, which already owns 17% of Namoi, has proposed to buy the rest of the Australian cotton producer for A$138.6 million, valuing the company at A$138.6 million. Olam Agri, a rival suitor, has offered A$136.6 million for Namoi Cotton.
