2 local women, Hollie Evans and Martyna Hicks, were honored as Southwest Louisiana Paramedic and EMT of the Year by Acadian Ambulance. Acadian Ambulance annually recognizes exceptional paramedics and EMTs from its four-state service area, with 32 finalists nominated by peers for their attitudes and patient care. The winners are selected by a company-wide committee, and the honorees will be celebrated on May 7 in Lafayette.
