India's fuel consumption increased by 6.1% YoY in April, reaching 19.86 million metric tons (4.85 million barrels per day) from 18.71 million tons last year, according to the latest data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell of the Oil Ministry. Diesel sales rose by 1.4% YoY to 7.93 million tons, while petrol sales surged by 14% to 3.28 million tons. However, demand in April declined by 5.8% from March.
