India's DoT blocked Chopra's mobile number and 20 linked devices after a reported fraud, using Chakshu platform for fraudulent communication reporting.

India's Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has acted against cybercrime after tech entrepreneur Aditi Chopra reported a fraudulent phone call and fake credit alert. The DoT disconnected Chopra's mobile number and blocked 20 linked devices involved in the fraud. DoT's online service, Chakshu, enables citizens to report fraudulent communications, with the department responding to the issue by blocking handsets used in fraudulent activities and disconnecting mobile numbers. Since launching Chakshu, the DoT has blacklisted 52 entities, blocked 348 handsets, and flagged 10,834 suspected mobile numbers.
