Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham seeks suspension of UK's Right to Buy policy and plans 10,000 new council homes by 2028.
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has called for the suspension of the Right to Buy policy to address the UK's housing crisis, blaming it for the loss of 14,100 homes since 2012. Burnham plans to build 10,000 new council homes by 2028 and make them permanently exempt from the Right to Buy scheme. He also wants to improve standards in the private rented sector with a Greater Manchester Good Landlord charter.
