Four pupils from Gauteng's Eqinisweni Secondary School allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison within a 10-day span, sparking concern and prompting the Gauteng Department of Education to send its psycho-social support unit to provide counseling. The incidents occurred between 26 April and 5 May, with a Grade 10 girl, a Grade 11 girl, and a Grade 11 boy dying, and another Grade 11 boy hospitalized.
