Czech Constitutional Court declares gender-affirmation surgery requirement for legal gender change unconstitutional.

The Czech Republic's highest court ruled that people no longer need to undergo gender-affirmation surgery, including sterilization, to legally change their gender. The Constitutional Court stated that the requirements are "unconstitutional" and violate trans people's right to protect their physical integrity and personal autonomy. Lawmakers must change the affected sections of the law by mid-2025.
