16-year-old Erin Brooks, a US-born, Hawaii-raised surfer, clinched the Gold Coast Pro Challenger Series surfing title by defeating Brazil's Luana Silva in the final. Brooks scored a perfect 10 during her semi-final before knocking out Australian favourite Sally Fitzgibbons in the semis. It was the second 10 registered on the Challenger Series after Macy Callaghan's perfect ride earlier in the week.
