An ocean survey vessel at Shell Cove marina raised concerns among anti-offshore wind farm activists, who believed it was mapping locations for an Illawarra offshore wind zone yet to be approved. However, Shellharbour Marina director Les Binkin confirmed the vessel, which is uncrewed and remotely controlled, is used to map the ocean floor and was showcasing its capabilities to various groups, including the navy and government.
