Supreme Court postpones bail hearing for ex-Tamil Nadu Minister V. Senthil Balaji in money laundering case linked to cash-for-jobs scam.
The Supreme Court postponed the hearing on the bail plea of former Tamil Nadu Minister V. Senthil Balaji, arrested in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged cash-for-jobs scam, to May 15. Balaji's lawyer, Aryama Sundaram, argued that his client had spent 328 days in custody. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) accused Balaji of playing a central role in the job racket scam during his tenure as Transport Minister in 2014-2015.
