Supreme Court of Appeal orders new trial for ANC MP Bongani Bongo's bribery case.
The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) overturned a high court ruling which dismissed the bribery and corruption trial of African National Congress (ANC) MP Bongani Bongo. The SCA found that 'the high court made several mistakes of law' and ordered a new trial. Bongo was charged for allegedly seeking to bribe an evidence leader in Parliament's 2017 inquiry into state capture at Eskom.
