Portland Parks & Recreation is replacing 11 park light poles with Dark Sky-friendly, LED lights by summer 2024.
Portland Parks & Recreation has completed removing and replacing light poles in eight of 11 parks, with the final three to be finished by summer 2024. Older poles, up to a century old, are being replaced with Dark Sky-friendly, LED lights that are 66% more efficient and direct light towards pathways. The project aims to reduce light impact on neighboring homes.
