A groundbreaking clinical trial using CRISPR gene editing has shown promising results in treating inherited blindness, with improvements in vision reported for 11 of the 14 participants. The BRILLIANCE trial, led by Mass Eye and Ear, demonstrated the treatment to be safe and effective in addressing forms of inherited vision loss.
