Pakistan's Supreme Court has temporarily suspended the Peshawar High Court's ruling that rejected the Sunni Ittehad Council's (SIC) petitions for the reserved seats of women and minorities. The SIC, which primarily comprises Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed independent candidates, had sought the seats on the basis of proportional representation. The top court's decision means the SIC can continue its push for allocated seats in the National Assembly.
