Nigeria's recurrent power outages remain a significant challenge, casting shadows over politicians' electoral pledges. However, there have been improvements in grid stability, with grid collapses decreasing from 42 in 2010 to 3 in 2023. Recently, the federal government pledged to restore electricity in eight local government areas in Sokoto State, which have been without power for a decade. A delegation from the Ministry of Power was sent to assess the affected areas and take necessary action.
