A newborn girl was safely surrendered at AnMed Hospital in South Carolina under the state's safe haven law, the Daniel's Law. Born on May 3, the infant was medically evaluated, discharged, and placed in a DSS-licensed foster home. Daniel's Law allows infants to be surrendered up to 60 days old at designated locations, preventing abandonment in dangerous circumstances. This is the fourth baby surrendered under the law in South Carolina this year.
