China's rapid digital technology advancement and labor category broadening have led to numerous new professions, with 1,639 identified occupations in 2022, 158 more than in 2015. 6% of these are related to digital technology. Chinese youth are pursuing these emerging fields, including AI architects, machine learning engineers, homestay housekeepers, and pet nurses, in response to domestic job market competition.
