New Jersey State Police Trooper Marcellus E. Bethea, an eight-year veteran, died during training at the state police headquarters in Ewing Township, Mercer County. The 156th State Police Class member was training for the Elite Teams Unit. The cause of his death has not been disclosed, and no further details about funeral arrangements have been released. Governor Phil Murphy expressed his condolences.
