NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center has created a new immersive black hole visualization using a supercomputer. Astrophysicist Jeremy Schnittman created two scenarios: one where an astronaut slingshots back after nearly falling in, and another where the astronaut crosses the event horizon. The visualizations are available in multiple forms, including explainer videos that guide viewers through the bizarre effects of falling into a black hole.
