Nairobi faces weekly water rationing due to damaged pipelines and heavy rainfall reducing supply.
Nairobi, Kenya's capital, faces water rationing despite heavy rains, according to the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC). The Equitable Water Distribution Program will ensure each customer receives water once per week due to reduced supply caused by damaged pipelines and heavy rainfall. Water production is constrained by the installed capacity, with daily demand reaching up to 900 million liters while production from four water sources totals 525.6 million liters per day.
