Maritime Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh claims Gwadar will play a key role in Pakistan's economic development, improving the standard of living for coastal Makran area residents. During a three-day visit, Sheikh attended a meeting about Gwadar's development projects and plans, expressing federal government's interest in resolving coastal district issues. Gwadar's Free Zone Agriculture Industrial Park has been inaugurated, with a desalination plant providing 12 lakh gallons of water per day.
