Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) uncovers thousands of pending cases, including a 2000 rape case, at various police stations.

Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) found 3,498 pending cases at Porompat Police Station since 1999, with the most concerning being a rape case from 2000. MHRC also discovered 958 cases pending at City Police Station, Imphal West, including some from 1996. Additionally, 31 murder cases were found pending for 10-30 years at Thoubal Police Station during a surprise visit by MHRC chairperson UB Saha.
