Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams to fly Boeing Starliner for first crewed test flight to ISS under NASA's Commercial Crew Program on May 7.
Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams is scheduled to fly into space for her third mission on May 7, piloting the Boeing Starliner spacecraft alongside fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore. The mission is the first crewed test flight of Starliner, and if successful, will make Boeing the second private firm capable of providing crew transport to and from the International Space Station (ISS), alongside Elon Musk's SpaceX. The flight aims to evaluate the Starliner's performance and suitability for manned missions to the ISS under NASA's Commercial Crew Program.
