India approves 14,000 tonnes of non-basmati white rice export to Mauritius, despite a July 2023 ban to increase domestic supply. The National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL) facilitates the export under government permission to meet food security needs. India has previously exported rice to countries like Nepal, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Seychelles.
