EU ends rule-of-law proceedings against Poland due to judicial reform measures.

The European Union (EU) has announced an end to its six-year rule-of-law proceedings against Poland. The legal dispute began over concerns that Poland's judicial reforms posed a risk to the rule of law in the country. However, since Prime Minister Donald Tusk assumed office, Poland has undertaken measures to address concerns about the independence of the justice system, recognizing the primacy of EU law and committing to implementing judgments from the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights.
