Cyanide spill from Eureka Gold Mine contaminates Dande River, main water source for villagers in Guruve North, Zimbabwe.

Villagers in Guruve North, Mashonaland Central province are in a quandary after the Dande River, their main water source, was contaminated by a cyanide spillage from the nearby Eureka Gold Mine. The worst affected areas are wards 2, 4, 5, 6, and 18, and villagers are unsure if the river water is safe for domestic use. Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa) halted water pumping to Guruve growth point due to the incident.
