Chicago's annual Cinco de Mayo parade was abruptly canceled due to ongoing gang violence in the area. Out of an abundance of caution, the police department made the decision along with parade organizers and elected officials to ensure the safety of attendees, especially families and children. Multiple arrests, including gun-related ones, have been made, and the parade route is being cleared.
