Tulsa nonprofits launch "Books in Barbershops" initiative to promote literacy among pre-K to 3rd grade students.

Two Tulsa nonprofits, My Brother's Keeper Tulsa and Reading Partners, have launched the "Books in Barbershops" initiative to promote literacy among Tulsa students in grades pre-K to 3. The program aims to foster a love for reading by providing engaging books and incentives in local barbershops, allowing elementary-aged students to choose a book and read while waiting for or getting their haircut. The program kicked off on Saturday and barbershops interested in participating can contact My Brother's Keeper Tulsa.
