Sudbury MP Viviane Lapointe has been appointed to the parliamentary committee on national defence, which studies issues related to the Department of National Defence, Canadian Armed Forces, and security environment. The committee is currently examining space defence and has previously studied cybersecurity, Arctic security, and addressing sexual misconduct in the armed forces. Lapointe expressed her honour at being selected and her eagerness to contribute to Canada's national security and defence policies.
