Princess Anne, sister of King Charles III, visited the God's Acre veteran's cemetery in Esquimalt, BC, honouring over 2,500 military personnel and their families buried there. The visit was part of her three-day West Coast trip, which included the commissioning of Canada's first Arctic patrol vessel, HMCS Max Bernays, and a commemorative service for the Battle of the Atlantic at the B.C. legislature. As the current president of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, her role involves caring for 23,000 war memorials and cemeteries worldwide, commemorating 1.7 million Commonwealth casualties.
